Please don’t think this story has anything to do with technicality or engineering! On the contrary, it’s a story that glorifies mega goof-ups.

Well, why not? They make good comic material!

So I was studying ‘Automobile Engineering’ at ‘Bassapa Verrapa Bhoomaraddi College Of Engineering and Technology.’ Better known as B.V.B.C.E.T! (When we were the freshers, our seniors teased us about remembering our college’s full name!) It was a great place, though. The campus was huge, the faculty was good, and I had a few great experiences there.

This was my final year in college (the last year of my 4-year course). We had to study some elective subjects not related directly to our courses. I had chosen Aircraft Design and Autotronics; it is mechatronics (mechanical + electronics ) for the automobile!

These details were only to scare you!

As I said, this was another branch’s subject, so when we got any assignments or projects, my first reaction was to turn to friends from that branch. Interestingly, in this case, my cousin studied in that branch. So I was even more comfortable.

Once we were given group projects. So, the whole class was divided into groups of five. Luckily, our project was pretty similar to one of my cousin’s earlier semester project. So we recycled most of what his group had made. However, as it was a completely new subject, I, along with my friends, relied on my cousin to guide us. And he did a great job at that.

My friends and I were very confident on the day we had to show our project. So when our turn came, Our teacher was quite amused at seeing us brimming with confidence.

However, by looking at her face, I could tell she had conflicting emotions of ‘this seems good’ and ‘no, it’s too good!’
